    The Red Oak opened May 1, 1970, and for almost 40 years, The Red Oak has delighted guests with sensational Swedish-American cuisine. It attracts a clientele who are hungry for history and a taste for tradition.     From Galesburg: Take I-74 West to Woodhull “Exit 32″, turn right taking IL Rt #17 east. Go 10 miles to Junction IL Rt #34. Turn left continuing east 2 miles, then left again at the Bishop Hill State Historic site sign 1670E. We are 2.5 miles straight north.

    From Quad Cities: Take I-74 East to Woodhull “Exit 32″, turn left taking IL Rt #17 east. go 10 miles to Junction IL Rt #17 & US Rt #34. Turn left continuing east 2 miles, then left again at the Bishop Hill State Historic Site sign 1670 E. We are 2.5 miles straight north.

    From Chicago: Take I-80 East to Geneseo “Exit 19″ IL Rt #82. Proceed south on IL Rt #82 for 18 miles, watch for the Bishop Hill State Historic Site sign 570N. Turn left on County Rt #4, and continue east for 4 miles. Turn right on County Rt #39 1670 E, and Bishop Hill is 2 miles south. Approximate mileage 160 miles.

    From Peoria: Take I-74 West to IL Rt #78 “Exit 71″, and proceed north to US Rt #34. Turn left at Junction US Rt #34 & IL Rt #78. Continue on west through Galva turning right at the Bishop Hill State Historic Site sign 1670 E. We are 2.5 miles straight north.

Closed Mondays except for Memorial Day and Labor Day. Due to our lovely Illinois winters and our rural location the restaurant has abbreviated hours during Jan, Feb, Mar.  However, deliveries and shipping continue daily as scheduled YEAR ROUND.
